April 5, 2018 (Camp Hill, PA) – Morefield Communications, a full-service business technology company, announced that Nicholas Spallone has retired as Vice President from Morefield Communications. Spallone started with the company in 1971 in Altoona, Pa. His career grew and changed throughout the years as technology evolved. His leadership skills and industry knowledge were instrumental to Morefield’s expansion into Pennsylvania’s western region. Spallone was a Renaissance man of the industry as represented by the many titles he held while at Morefield. Beginning his career as a Technician, Nick was promoted to Operations Manager in 1988, again 9 years later to Regional Manager, added to the Sales Management team in 2002 and has been Vice President for the past 12 years.
While at Morefield, Nick greatly enjoyed his time spent with co-workers, but what he loved most was
enhancing his community through technology. He enjoyed working together with local businesses as a
trusted consultant to help build the business community around him. Using his knowledge in technology to address the specific needs of each organization was something Nick excelled at and loved doing. He was influential in the growth & success of Morefield Communications for 47 years, the longest tenure of any employee.
“Forty-seven years working for the same company is an unusual statistic, particularly in a technology company,” stated John Morefield, President of Morefield Communications. “Within those years the technology, as well as the business of technology, has transformed many times over, as did Nick’s career, growing with the company which is now over 10 times the size.” “Nick’s interest in new things, positivity and upstanding character made him a joy to be around. My father and I both counted on Nick as a solid business partner, and more importantly as a true friend to the Altoona community. Nick has inspired many lives within the Morefield team with his passion and for that we are thankful. We wish Nick and his family the very best as they commence to their next phase of life,” remarked Morefield.
Today we celebrate Nick’s career and thank him for his tenure, service, and accomplishments. A celebration was thrown honoring his 47 years of service on March 20, 2018. Nick is looking forward to spending time with his wife, Pam, his family and friends and exploring new interests upon retirement. Congratulations to Nick and thank you for being such an intricate part in the company’s success.
