A Camp Hill communications company has announced a business takeover with a similar company in Williamsport.
Morefield Communications Inc. said it has acquired the customers of Telaflex Communications Systems in Williamsport for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition brings “several hundred” Telaflex customers into Morefield’s fold, company officials said.
Telaflex is a division of Cable Services Company Inc., also of Williamsport. Its customers who use the company for technical support for their business phone system will be shifted to Morefield.
“We have decided to do what is best for the future service of our customers and transition all technical support accounts to Morefield,” said Ken Michaels, president and CEO of Cable Services Company. “We are confident in this decision and know that these customers will receive quality service.”
Those customers have been working with Morefield to be ready for the transition since May 20, Morefield officials said.
With the company’s new customers, Morefield now has 6,250 business customers.
Morefield has more than 100 employees and is a communications technology company specializing in networking, information technology support services, managed services, audio/video technology and more.
