Extron (February 27, 2007) has released version 1.11 of firmware for the IPL T Series products to adjust for this recent change. This new firmware will properly adjust the time on the following IPL T products using the new DST schedule for 2007.

IPL T S1
IPL T S2
IPL T S4
IPL T S6
IPL T SFI244
IPL T SF24
IPL T CR48
IPL T IRL

Extron recommends applying this new firmware prior to the March 11th time change, especially in applications which depend on the time of day.

For other products such as the MLC series and System 5 IP, new firmware will not be available until sometime after the spring time change. For these products, as well as IPL T products that have not been updated with version 1.11 firmware, Extron recommends using Global Configurator to change the time using the process detailed below.

Updating Device Date and Time using Global Configurator. (Note: This step-by-step should be done AFTER March 11th on a PC that has the correct date and time.)

TCP/IP connection:

  1. Verify the time and date on your PC is correct.
  2. Open the Global Configurator (GC2) software.
  3. Open the GC2 configuration file (*.gc2) used to configure the devices.
  4. From the Tools menu, select Change Device Settings.
  5. All devices in the configuration should be listed.
  6. Select the devices that need their date/time updated. The ability to select multiple devices is available.
  7. Once selected, right-click and select Set Time and Date.
  8. Make the necessary time adjustments (Note: Because this dialog will set the time zone, devices across multiple time zones should be done separately).
  9. Make sure to UNCHECK the ‘Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes’ checkbox. This stops the device from using the old daylight saving time schedule (this will have to be rechecked after a new firmware version is applied).
  10. Close Change Device Settings dialog and GC2. The time is now set properly on all of the selected devices.

Serial connection:

  1. Verify the time and date on your PC is correct.
  2. Open the Global Configurator (GC2) software.
  3. Open the GC2 configuration file (*.gc2) used to configure the device.
  4. Click on the IP Link Settings tab.
  5. Select the “Sync IP Link devices time and date to PC’s time and date” check box if not already selected.
  6. Select the correct time zone for your area.
  7. Set daylight saving to “Off” to stop the device from using the old daylight saving time schedule (this will have to be re-enabled after a new firmware version is applied).
  8. Build and upload the configuration. The time is now set properly on this device.
