1945: Company founded

Morefield Communications, Inc. was founded in 1945 by John A. Morefield Sr. to provide central Pennsylvania organizations with engineered paging, house of worship, and premise intercom systems.

Initially the business operated from Morefield Senior's home in Camp Hill. However, in 1960 it moved to its currently 35 North 35th Street location.

1964: Second generation leadership
In 1964, John A. Morefield Jr. succeeded his father as president of the company, and the business continued to grow and prosper.

Sales exceeded $1,000,000 for the first time in 1970.

1971: Morefield enters interconnect business
In 1971, Morefield began selling business telephone systems that provided internal calling as well as external calling over the public telephone network. During the 1970’s, Morefield Communications sold telephone systems manufactured by ITT and L.M. Ericsson.

During this period, sales of engineered paging and pro audio systems added diversity to the company’s product line.

1980: Morefield enters computer age
John A. Morefield decided to break with the manufacturers of electro-mechanical systems and partner with Northern Telecom, Siemens, and Iwatsu America. All three manufacturers offered computer controlled systems.

Our partnership as an authorized distributor for Nortel Networks and Iwatsu America continues to this day. The durability of these partnerships is virtually unheard of in the volatile telecommunication industry.

1990: Customer base continues to grow
Morefield Communications had a very strong customer base, especially with regional banks and hospitals throughout Central Pennsylvania. In addition to voice communications, throughout our history we have specialized in video and audio solutions for houses of worship, business, healthcare and industry.

John D. Morefield, the third generation of the Morefield family, joined the company in 1991. John established a strong data networking product line, positioning the company to capitalize on the

convergence of voice, data and video networking technologies. Partnerships were established with manufacturers such Cisco Systems and Microsoft.

1997: Third generation leadership
John has charted the company’s path as a systems integrator with solutions that bring together multiple kinds of technology for the benefit of customers.
