1945 - Morefield Communications was founded by John A. Morefield Sr. The company provided engineered paging and intercom systems as well as audio systems for houses of worship.
1960 - The company moved to its current location at 35 North 35th Street in Camp Hill. For the first 15 years the business had operated from Mr. Morefield's home.
1964 - John A. Morefield Jr. succeeded his father as president of the company. The business continued to grow and prosper. Sales exceeded $1 million for the first time in 1970.
1971 - Morefield entered the interconnect business, selling telephone systems capable of internal calling as well as calls over the public telephone network. The company sold systems manufactured by ITT and LM Ericsson. Engineered paging and pro audio systems added diversity to the product line.
1971 - Morefield opens a Regional Office in Altoona, PA. The operation later moved into larger space, a restored school house, at 801 S. Kettle Street in Altoona. For nearly 10 years before opening the Altoona office the business operated from an employee's home in Altoona.
1980 - John A. Morefield severed partnerships with the manufacturers of electro-mechanical phone systems in favor of the new computer-controlled systems offered by Northern Telecom, Siemens, and Iwatsu America.
1986 - A new corporate headquarters office is constructed at 3500 Market Street. The building is adjacent to the enlarged building at 35 N 35th Street, which is now used primarily for logistics.
1991 - John D. Morefield, the third generation of the family, joined the company and introduced computer networking to the product portfolio. Partnerships were established with Cisco and Microsoft.
1997 - John D. Morefield succeeded his father as President of the company. John charted the company’s path as an information technology systems integrator.
2010 - IT solutions including onsite and remote IT support, managed services and network monitoring were added to the company's roster of technology solutions and services. Partnerships with Allworx, ShoreTel and Avaya were established to offer world-class IP phone systems to the small business, mid-size and enterprise markets.
Today - Morefield designs, installs and supports a wide array of information technology solutions, specializing in networking, IP telephone systems, IT support services, managed services, premise security and audio / video. Partnerships with the world's leading manufacturers ensure innovative technology solutions.
